Note from the Architectural Control Committee
If you are contemplating building or construction at your property, you must first receive approval from the PKA Architectural Control Committee. Once your plans have been reviewed and approved by the ACC, you can submit your request to the town's Building Inspector for final approval. If in doubt, please contact our Association Administrator who can direct you to our ACC point of contact. This requirement includes original construction, additions to your home (decks, fences, seawall, dock, boat lift, tree cutting, driveway work, landscaping and swimming pools. You can review further specific requirements for any construction from our Restrictive Covenants link as well as submit initial project review form by printing out this form, filling it out and putting it in the PKA drop box at 118 Walnut Circle.
The Annual Dues are $170 for each lot in PKA as recorded by the Carteret County Tax Department and they are payable on or before 6/30 annually without incurring a penalty. Starting on July 1st of 2021 the Board determined the new penalty would be $20/month for being late in your payments up to a maximum penalty of $100.
NOTICE: The HOA may put a lien on a property that has exceeded the maximum late fees and continues non-payment.
Gate Card Guidelines
The Pine Knoll Association (known as PKA) and PIKSCO Corporations have approved a reciprocal agreement for the use of each organization's park areas. Gate cards issued by each organization access the same park areas. The following rules control the issuance of gate cards by members of PKA when parking in a PKA or PIKSCO designated area.
GATE CARDS
Members are entitled to a maximum of two free gate cards per lot. When a property sells, the Gate Cards should be transferred to the new owners at closing.
After two cards are issued, replacement of a lost gate card is $25.00 with verification of loss. THe Homeowner will, where possible, identify their remaining card number.
Gate cards are issued to limit the number of cars in parking lots and for member use of PKA and PIKSCO boat ramps. A gate card may be used to allow only one car into a parking lot. Your Gate Card can be used at all PKA and PIKSCO properties that are gated.
RENTAL PROPERTIES AND TENANTS
If a PKA member wishes to provide tenants with gate cards, it is the responsibility of the homeowner (PKA Member) to coordinate this service. PKA only deals with PKA property owners.
